Daidalos Public Workshop

Exchange of ideas and results with FP7 projects

22-23 September 2008
Heidelberg, Germany

Purpose of the workshop

The purpose of the public workshop is to report about the main results of the Daidalos project and to hear about whether and how Daidalos ideas have been taken up by FP7 projects.

The workshop will be oriented towards the five key concepts developed in Daidalos:

  • MARQS (Mobility Management, A4C [Authentication, Authorisation,  Accounting, Auditing and Charging], Resource Management, QoS and Security)
  • VID (Virtual Identity)
  • USP (Ubiquitous and Seamless Pervasiveness)
  • SIB (Seamless Integration of Broadcast), and
  • Federation

The Daidalos project will present its concepts and provide insights to the experiences obtained throughout the implementation, integration, testing and validation of the above mentioned innovations.

Daidalos has already a tradition of exchanging ideas and results with other IST projects, and has influenced a number of new FP7 projects that have taken up some Daidalos ideas and combined them with completely new challenges. They thus serve to validate the Daidalos concepts and their progress is a checkpoint for Daidalos as well. This workshop will bring together experts from such new FP7 projects, as well those that may serve to independently evaluate Daidalos concepts (SWIFT, Persist, Carmen and Ubisec&Sens) with Daidalos to share experiences and lessons learnt.
