Daidalos at the IFA 2007 in Berlin
IFA
is the world’s leading fair related to consumer electronics. The IFA 2007,
held from 31 August to 5 September 2007, attracted 235,000 visitors from
around the world.
Within the IFA area "Technology and components", a Technology & Science Forum ("Technisch-Wissenschaftliches Forum") provided a platform for showcasing tomorrow's innovations and technologies.
The
IP Daidalos II contributed two distinguished demonstators:
- Seamless Mobilty, presented by Deutsche Telekom, and
- DVB-H handover, demonstrated by Institut für Nachrichtentechnik.
Deutsche Telekom's Seamless Mobilty exhibit showed a scenario where a TV programme is first viewed at home, is then transferred to a mobile device, and is finally continued in a car. The utilisation can be modified according to the situation. For example, the film can be stopped by an incoming call, or - when the car is started - only the sound continues to be transmitted for safety reasons. Contextual information is made available, which is gathered from a variety of sources and integrated to be adapted and transmitted by active services.
Both
demonstrations attracted numerous professional visitors and contributed to a
high visibility of Daidalos project results.
