Daidalos among top 10 exhibitions
at IST Event 2006 in Helsinki
At the IST Event 2006 in Helsinki on 21-23 November, Daidalos presented
selected results in the exhibition area. In a vote on the best exhibitions,
the joint Daidalos/Akogrimo exhibition "Mobility, Pervasiveness and Grid
Technologies" was ranked among the top ten.
The technical demonstration used the Science Truck from University of Stuttgart and had already been successfully presented at the WWRF Meeting in Heidelberg on 15-17 November.
At the three-day IST Event in Helsinki, the joint Daidalos/Akogrimo exhibition attracted a very high level of interests among the more than 4500 participants. Among the numerous visitors were high-ranking officials from the European Commission, including the Director-General for Information Society and Media, Fabio Colasanti, and senior industry representatives from Telefonica, France Telecom, Nokia, Lucent, and many others.
The demo comprised the visualization of five key concepts the project
works on. These are:
- MARQS: Mobility, AAA, Ressource Management, QoS and Security
- USP: Ubiquitous and Seamless pervasiveness
- SIB: Seamless Integration of Broadcast
- VID: Virtual Identities
- Federation
The project exhibition was based on an automotive scenario of the five key
concepts comprising the multiple usage of different technologies like 802.3,
802.11, and DVB-T in a pervasive networking environment. This comprises
session mobility, service adaptation personalization concepts, and context
management. The automotive scenario was presented in the University of
Stuttgart's
Science Truck.
