DAIDALOS at the Global IPv6 Summit
DAIDALOS participated with a stand and a demonstration at the Global IPv6
Summit in Barcelona, Spain. The event took place from 6-10 June 2005. It was organized in order to provide a
complete view of the progress of IPv6 in the ICT sectors.
DAIDALOS and EU project Akogrimo worked in collaboration to provide an
integrated demonstration at this event. The exhibit showed the integration
of web services (providing patient critical information to a doctor) with
the underlying network providing enhanced quality of service (through the
Daidalos QoS Broker).
The features demonstrated by DAIDALOS included:
- Seamless integration of a complementary range of heterogeneous
technologies and concepts.
- Integration of QoS and Multimedia.
- A flexible, scalable and user transparent architecture.
Kevin
Doolin, Competence Centre Manager at DAIDALOS partner TSSG, made a
presentation at the event. He said that DAIDALOS will “seamlessly integrate
the heterogeneous network technologies available and allow the average user
to remain oblivious to the number and complexity of access technologies on
offer. The communications device will make the necessary choices, according
to preset user preferences such as cost and speed to optimise the experience
for the user”.
